A Systems Engineering Solution Design and Development (D&D)

Operating under two multi-year contracts worth over $70m, ASFT provides a broad range of system engineering services to the Navy's Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC). ASFT applications encompass system engineering solutions as they apply to Undersea Warfare Command and Control Systems. Ensuring undersea combat systems readiness, ASFT provides the Navy with scientific and engineering expertise in planning, developing, conducting research, and advanced engineering and operational systems development.

For example, ASFT develops, operates, and maintains the "Future Attack Center" – an advanced facility intended to centralize advanced submarine development concepts for prototyping, integration, and fleet input. With free-flowing configuration and advanced displays, ASFT facilitates rapid turn-around for reconfiguration, rebuilding, and retesting of prototype systems, applications, displays and subsystem integration. Connectivity through SIPRNET, Submarine Radio Room, and other dedicated network connections to NUWC subsystems allow the center to serve as a landing platform for all types of submarine tactical systems and applications.

Some applications include:

  • "Concept of Operations Exercises"
  • Performance analysis of system/human interrelationships
  • Prototype testing for integration of combat control system applications
  • Post-exercise and real-world reconstruction, playback and analysis.
