"We wanted to work with a team of developers experienced with a variety of programming languages and tools that could support flexible project schedules and requirements," said Dave Panek, President of Widestream Solutions, an information technology consulting business. At ASFT, Widestream found a team that could support a diversity of overflow projects on an on-demand schedule. ASFT developers have used ASP, Microsoft SQL, and Crystal Reports to support Ohio's Catholic Social Services, with projects ranging from building reporting tools for their Agency Management System, to constructing an intranet for their Board of Directors. In support of a social networking startup called "FanFound," ASFT analyzed PHP code and MySQL databases in conjunction with business case documents in order to write project feasibility whitepapers and develop a tool to estimate anticipated bandwidth and storage costs. Mr. Panek added, "ASFT is able to meet the needs of an ever changing technology environment by leveraging excellent program and project management along with seasoned expert advice."
The Naval Undersea Warfare Center needed a secure, custom-built digital library that would house hundreds of thousands of undersea platform drawings, and support thousands of users. Using advanced ASP and SQL Server implementations, ASFT developed software allowing users to rapidly search the library using a wide variety of custom metadata, such as drawing numbers, revisions, document types, department codes, and descriptions. For speed and convenience, the system allows drawings to be mass downloaded in compressed archives. Five years after its launch, the system continues to see daily use, its collection of hundreds of thousands of drawings continuing to grow along with its 4,000+ user base . ASFT continues to maintain the software.
