In supporting the U.S. Navy, ASFT's Configuration Management (CM) Specialists have provided their clients with all CM planning, identification, change management, status accounting, audits and transfer of information required to support the successful engineering, design, and development of their product lines. For submarine combat systems, ASFT manages all configuration items (CIs) including the issuance of system control identifiers for the Hardware Configuration Items (HWCIs) and the Computer Software Configuration Items (CSCIs). The technical documentation that comprises the HWCIs and CSCIs has also been cataloged with the systems' configuration variants, and includes all proposed engineering changes to the baseline as determined during the system engineering process. This documentation includes:

ASFT maintains a client-owned collaborative, web-hosted workspace for the development, integration, certification, and life cycle configurations of supported systems. ASFT personnel perform both hardware and software Physical Configuration Audits and generate software and system builds which are distributed to specific submarine platforms to support mission critical milestones. They also develop Class I and II Engineering Change Proposals and related documentation, and maintain a drawing repository containing thousands of digital and paper copies of all historical design and configuration records.
