ASFT Awarded $500,000 To Implement New UID Tracking System At Naval Submarine Base
August 20, 2007Advanced Solutions for Tomorrow, Inc. (ASFT), has been awarded $500,000 by the Armed Services Appropriations Committee for the development and implementation of an item-tracking pilot program to be used at the Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base in Kings Bay in Georgia's Camden County.
The Real-Time Identification and Total Asset Visibility (RITAV) program will utilize smart technologyies to facilitate the process of RFID tracking and bar-coding of military material and supplies. A unique identification number (UID) is created for each tangible item on the base and is perpetually associated and catalogued with that item, providing state-of-the-art, life-cycle asset management.
